Choosing the perfect Corporate Gift is easy as 1…2…3!

The holiday season can be overwhelming for all of us, and it seems to come earlier and earlier each year. When you add in the responsibilities of picking the perfect corporate gift, the entire season can suddenly become frustrating—instead of the season of joy it should be!

So, how do you maintain the holiday spirit when you might secretly be dreading another corporate gifting craze? Winans is here to help! Our list of tips to help you choose the perfect corporate gift will simplify the process so that you can enjoy the holiday season.

STEP 1: Give a useful item and surround it with shareable gourmet food
According to a 2018 survey on business gifting, the most memorable corporate gifts include a useful item or some type of gourmet food. Double your chances of making a personal connection with your recipients by combining both of them together and creating a themed experience. For example, pair your cutting board with gourmet cheese and crackers. Pair a traveling tote with trail mix and nutrition bars. Pair a coffee mug with your favorite roasted beans. It doesn't matter what you choose, but keep in mind that it is better to choose quantity over quality when it comes to business gifts.

STEP 2: Give personalized items that are made locally
Nothing adds value to your gift as much as its' ability to tell a story. Locally purchased gifts add context to your story and a hand-written card can add even more value. The same survey previously mentioned also confirmed that receiving an item made locally was the top-preferred value attribute in 2018.

STEP 3: Place spending limits according to the recipients partnership level
Most junior-level business associates receive gifts between $30-50, while a manager or higher level business partner would receive a gift between $55-80. Some businesses also elect to send shareable gifts to their most valued clients that generally start at about $100 and above depending on the size of the recipient's business.

BONUS: Writing a personalized note
If you want to add the extra value of a personalized note but are at a loss for what to say then this tip is for you! If you are in a hurry, create a lasting personal connection by utilizing the following four sections of an enclosure card.

Dear [recipient],

Thank you for [contributing to a project, helping achieve a goal, being a valued customer, etc.].

I selected this gift for you because [how you see them using it, what made you think they would like it, why you like it, etc.]

I look forward to [continuing to support you, working with you, getting to know you, etc.]

Sign off with the occasion - Happy Holidays, Congratulations, Welcome to the company, etc
